• Welcome

This site is dedicated to Damen Wiylde and all of the people
I have had the pleasure of playing with through the years.

It is based on a dream -
When you want something bad enough, you gotta go for it!
My name is Paul Moore. I have been involved with singing in bands since I was about 12 years old. Music, to me, is everything. It's all I ever wanted to do. I wasn't like other kids. All I ever wanted to do was play in a band.
I have played in many bands but nothing compares to Damen Wylde. I love writing original music and with the help of the right members, you can do anything. So I took my own advice and got off my ass and did something about it!
I feel like I have contributed to writing some of the best music ever! Take a tour, take a listen, sign our guestbook, and enjoy!

    How it all began...

In 1988 four wild boys decided they wanted to be rock stars and so chasing the dream begins...

Paul Moore(that's me), being a rock-n-roll dreamer since the young age of 8, have had the pleasure of singing in many local cover tune bands.
This would include Glacier Foxx, Sonic Assault, Ampridge, 3D, Toys Fuldrock, and Rock Dolls, to name a few. All were great cover bands but this did not to seem to satisfy the wild one in me. I constantly dreamed of writing and performing my own original music.
    So the search started....
First I needed to find a seasoned guitar player who shard the same dream and believed in the cause. One summer night I ended up being in the right place at the right time(for a change). Guitar Master Robert Gies was hanging out at a local party, where all of us rocker dreamers frequently gathered and hung out to party. The probability of putting a band together was brought up and we decided to team up and put a plan together.
It wasn't long before we made the move to the big city of Denver and proceded to advertise for and schedule auditions. We were looking for the perfect talented members to complete our band. Damen Wiylde soon found the perfect fit with the talented Kyle Davis on bass guitar and the rocking Lance Murphy on drums.
YES! OUR BAND! OUR MUSIC! OUR TALENTS!
It wasn't long before we all became the best of friends. We worked together so well that it took only days to write and perfect our music and lyrics instead of months. Some it literally only took minutes to come together. (I shit you not!) It was meant to be and Damen Wiylde was born.

The next thing you know, we're are all living in the same big house. We were having so much fun living our party lives of rock-n-roll. It was a party all night and a party every day. We never even noticed that we were headed in a downward spiral of self destruction. All the constant abuse of booze, women, drugs, and wild lifestyle was taking it's toll.
Our crazy lifestyles continued for about 2 years. During this time we experienced the greatness of recording songs and making videos, hearing ourselves on the radio, and we played all the big clubs that were within a 250 mile radius of Denver. Everyone knew us and we packed 'em in wherever we played. After all, we were everyone's favorite party band!

Now that we had conquered the local scene, our dreams grew bigger. It was time to play with the big boys and make the move to Los Angels, CA. Wow! We were really gonna do it. The question was how were we gonna do it without the necessary funds? So the boy party was over and the Damen Wiylde dream came to a screeching hault...or so it would seem.

    NOT QUITE..

Either you're on the bus of rock-n-roll or you're off it and Paul Moore (that's me) was definitely still on the bus! Going it alone while down and out was rough but this streak of bad luck would not last for long.

I jumped in my piece of shit 1968 Dodge Pick Up Truck that I purchased for a whole whopping $45.00. With no spare tire, no driver's license, and no car insurance I went out on a limb and took a chance to live my dream. I drove all the way from Denver to Los Angeles full of determination. I just had to keep the music going.

A few weeks of sleeping in my vehicle and sleeping on the beach in California lead to greater things. I was able to contact and hook up with a former bandmate who had relocated from Colorado to California. I shared my dream and Damen Wiylde's original music with the my extremely talented friend and collegue, Russ Slee. And just like that...

Damen Wiylde was re-born in 1990 (West Coast Style).

Auditions came fast and easy. Only the best would do.

With Mike Shaw on drums, John Stewart on lead guitar, Russ Slee on bass guitar, and myself, Paul Moore on vocals, Damen Wiylde was rocking once again! Of course there was more writing, more gigs, more fun, and more of everything crazy too. Unfortunately in California, the cost of living was simply much higher. Once again we were looking for a way to get back into the studio. It was time to record all of Damen Wiylde's music in all it's glory once again. This time we had a few new tracks to lay down too. Since we came up short on cash for the studio, a couple of our band memebers left us and we went looking for the perfect replacements once again. (It's always about the money.) A minor setback. Mike Shaw and John Stewart left us but we recovered quickly. We soon recruited a couple more phenomenol musicians. We now had Trevor Helbacka layin' it down on lead guitar and John Dupont kicking it hard on the drums! Damen Wiylde never sounded better.

It all came together and we recorded our best album ever at Butchie Boy Studios in Temecula, CA. Awesome!

Time is a funny thing. It DOES run out. After 20 years of working to make this dream a reality, I found myself in a crowded room, feeling alone, and asking myself "WTF"? Are you gonna chase this dream for the rest of your life? Do I want to be broke? Stoned? Drunk? Homeless? Or maybe even worse? Do I want to constantly struggle to make ends meet for the rest of my life? So once again I had found myself at a crossroad with a choice to make...and I made it.
This site is dedicated to friends, musicians, fans, and everyone who was a part of the rockin' Damen Wiylde dream! Being a musician is an art form. A gift from God himself. Knowing all of you and having the pleasure of writing, recording, and dreaming / sharing life with you all was also a gift for me. Thank you.

Remember, Life is a song. Write a good one and turn it up!
